Erhan Selcuk Haciomeroglu, PhD
Erhan Selcuk "Dr. H" Haciomeroglu, PhD, is the advisor for the Mathematics Education undergraduate and graduate programs and is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Cukurova University and his master’s and doctoral degrees in mathematics education from Florida State University. His research interests include the role of visualization and representations in the teaching and learning of calculus. He has published articles and has made presentations at international, national and state conferences on topics related to students’ learning of calculus. Dr. H teaches methods courses in the state-approved MA Mathematics Education program and encourages students who wish to teach middle and high school mathematics to complete this program.
Janet Andreasen, PhD
Janet Andreasen, PhD, is an Instructor of Mathematics Education and the Coordinator of Secondary Education for the College of Education. She received her PhD in Education in 2006 from the University of Central Florida and taught high school in the central Florida area. She has more than five publications including two books, and more than 25 presentations at state, national, and international conferences. Her research interests include examining the types of knowledge that prospective and practicing teachers need in order to teach mathematics for understanding, as well as the use of virtual environments to train teachers.
