Mark Young, PhD

The current program coordinator for the Marriage, Couple and Therapy MA program, Mark Young, PhD, has more than 20 years of experience as a counselor in community mental health, corrections, college counseling centers and private practice. Dr. Young has published three books and a variety of articles ranging from imagery to innovative teaching techniques in the counseling field. He is involved with the Together Project, a research and service program housed in the College of Education Center. Graduate students involved with the project help run couples education groups for low-income married couples. He encourages students interested in becoming licensed providers of counseling services to individuals, children, couples, and families to apply. He says, “This program admits students with a bachelor’s degree in any major if they are interested in applied behavioral science and have a strong desire to help others.”
